Thl Major - 4:44

THL Major makes music that wakes people up while offering feel-good vibes on new album ‘HeartBroken TrappKidd

RACINE, WI – For many artists, it’s easy to make a song that pops and lasts for a couple of seasons. That summer jam that lingers into the fall or that feel-good love song that’s perfect for the beginning of the year but tapers off in late spring. Those songs are well and good, but they’re not the kind of decade-spanning legends that THL Major hopes to create.

Operating out of Racine, Wisconsin, this young up-and-coming artist is on a mission to make feel-good music that lasts forever. His latest album “HeartBroken TrappKidd” is his latest endeavor along those lines. It’s his second album following his breakout debut “Major” which was released in early 2020. “HeartBroken TrappKidd” features 11 songs that are a collage of tracks that he said will help to start the year off right.

“It’s a project that came from everything I was going through over the past year – heartbreak and being in and out of jail and stuff on the streets,” he said. “I want to build momentum for the next project that’s about to come out. These are more love songs and heartbreaking songs than anything else – a lot of vibes for the women.”

The debut single from the project is a song called “4:44” which chronicles the moment in which he lost his best friend in 2015 due to a drunken driving incident. At the time, his best friend was more into music than he was, and his love for creating new sounds and styles was starting to rub off on Major. “4:44” talks about what happened with the accident, how it happened and how Major has been dealing with it.

“I cope through the music,” he said. “My style is so crazy because I’m so versatile and I let my emotions out through my music. I can give you music that’s like Lil Baby, then switch to Bryson Tiller or The Wknd or Roddy Rich. If I want to feel like Drake sometimes, I can do that, too. I listen to Country and Pop and every type of music. I got an ear for it, and that comes out in what I create.”

In honor of his late best friend, Major adopted the Team High Life moniker at the front of his name. He’s been operating under that name ever since, with singles that have caught the attention of fans all throughout the Midwest. He hopes to expand that audience with this new album and said he’s eager to become an internationally known name when he released “Major 2” later this year.

“My goal is to use this music to get on a bigger platform to help everybody wake up,” he said. “Listen to what I have to say. I want my music to decode messages that help people get through their lives – to unbottle everything that everybody goes through. I make music because it makes me feel good and helps me get through the day, and I just want to create a message that wakes everybody up.”

Reggo - Politics

Reggo reflects on the good and the bad of the streets with new single ‘Politics’

DENVER, CO – A song that illuminates all the perks and attributes that come with being a part of the streets is the latest offering from Hip Hop artist Reggo. Originally from the Deep South of Louisiana but currently hailing from Denver, Colorado, this veteran of the game brings a one-of-a-kind sound with his unique flow and delivery. With his latest single “Politics,” he lets fans get a closer look at his life while also helping people understand how to make better choices when faced with difficult circumstances.

“I’m talking about my position and what I did coming up in the hood,” he said. “The name ‘Politics’ came from the balance of the good and the bad, and some of the statements that were made on the streets. It’s a song about juggling all the variables of the streets. More than anything, I think it shows my delivery and the way I come off on the beats. I have a rhyme scheme that hasn’t been introduced yet. I got a sound that’s like nothing that’s out there right now. I can’t even dictate someone who’s on the same level as me as far as how I’m coming. There’s not too many in the game coming how I’m coming.”

Reggo has been on his musical journey for a while with many opportunities for big things along the way. He started recording around age 14 with friends. They didn’t have a studio to go to, so they’d lay a microphone against a speaker to get the beat and record their songs on cassette players. Growing up in a small town, he said the only way to get out of the hood was through three options: being good at school, being an athlete, or doing music. The latter was his best option, he said. But even with music, he found himself sucked into a life of hustling on the streets. He was making big money hustling – so much so that he missed a couple of big opportunities to make some major moves in the music industry. One missed opportunity in particular that involved a meeting with Meek Mill opened his eyes to the possibilities before him and made him realize he had raw, natural talent that could take him places as a musician. Since then he’s met with some labels and worked on honing his craft, creating songs and projects that have slowly gathered him a fanbase over the years.

“I look at this as a calling from God, and I’m gonna push it as far as I can,” he said. “I hope my music helps people realize that even if you grew up in a poverty-stricken environment, or if you feel like all the odds are against you, you have a talent. Stick with it and pray about it and it’ll get you out. I thought I was stuck – I couldn’t get out of where I was or progress to save my life. But one thing led to another, and seeing my music helping others gave me the kick to keep going. I think I can help other people get out of similar situations with my music.”

In addition to “Politics,” Reggo said he has another single called “Facts” set to drop sometime in April.

Deep - Nothing's Impossible

West Coast artist Deep chronicles life-changing experiences on album ‘In Too Deep’

INGLEWOOD, CA – Music was always an ever-present part of life for Deep. Growing up in Inglewood, California, there were three constants: hooping, gang banging, and rapping. Although he started on the wrong path of violence, three life-changing moments served to help him choose music instead and to embrace his destiny as the musician now known as Deep.

The first of his three encounters happened with his girlfriend (now-wife). By his sophomore year in high school, Deep had become more and more entrenched in street life. One day out of the blue, his girlfriend had a heart-to-heart with him. “If you get killed or go to prison, how are we gonna take care of a family?”, she asked him. That was the first eye-opening moment. The second came when he and some friends were confronted by some gang members with guns. Though no shots were fired and no one was hurt from that experience, it was a situation that shocked him to his core and made him wonder if he got killed, would he go to hell? Those thoughts rattled around in his head until his mother one day dragged him to church. He really didn’t want to go, but he went since his mother was so adamant about it. Serving as the final revelation to change his life, the sermon from the preacher that day is still vivid in his memory. He gave his testimony about walking away from a life of crime and street life. Deep realized that if Rev. Jones could do it, he could, too.

“I never looked back from there,” Deep said. “I had always been a kid who loved music and was really into poetry, but as my life began to change – so did my lyrics. As a result, whenever I would spit – people would respond, “That’s deep!” Everything became deeper the more I looked deep within myself to discover my true character. That’s one of the reasons why I took that as my name because I want my music to represent change and encourage people to look deep within as well. I could go the route of gang banging, or I could go the route of following the Lord. When I made that change, everything got deeper and life started being more potent.”

Today, Deep brings real life to his music and offers a multifaceted sound and style to complement his deep lyrics. On his most recent album “In Too Deep”, fans can get a bevy of different styles. His opening song, “Going Hard,” is a fusion of Reggae and Hip Hop. He has a Pop groove called “Toast.” He has a love song called “Falling in Love.” And he has a very lyrical track called “My Lyrical Thesis.” And his latest track to hit the airwaves is a Gospel song with an edge called “Nothing’s Impossible.”

“It’s me telling my story of growing up in Inglewood and how God changed my life,” he said. “I want to show people that even with all the things you go through, with God nothing is impossible. Even if you don’t believe in God, this can be a song that’s just encouraging – whatever you go through, you can get through it. Don’t lose faith. Win or lose that day, keep your head up. It’s powerful, which is what I want my music to be for other people. I make relatable music that challenges people to see a different outlook.”

Deep said he’s currently at work on a follow-up album called “A Higher Purpose” which will take the lyrical content to the next level and embrace more of the Pop vibes he experimented with on his previous album.

YoungKingbd - Off-White

Young King with Big Dreams drops energy-filled new single ‘Off-White’

Young King with Big Dreams, also known as Youngkingbd, is an East Coast artist who was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. As a kid growing up in Nigeria, Young King was constantly reminded of how talented he was musically by his friends. They would call him the King, and when he came to America at age 14, he fully embraced that moniker and began pursuing a life of music.

Today, this fast-rising young talent is making a name for himself in the industry with hits like “Antidote” and “Rainstorm,” and he’s about to take his career to the next level with his new hit single “Off-White.” Currently available across all streaming platforms, “Off-White” is a perfect display of this young man’s talent. Opening with a piano intro that sets a light, airy tone throughout the song, Young King soon drops a bouncy beat that lays the perfect foundation for his swaggy flow. The piano melody gives the song a lightness that serves as a perfect companion for the catchy hooks and fun flow.

“I wanted to capture the different vibes and energy around me at the time of making the song,” Young King said. “I also wanted some catchy parts in the song and I wanted to talk about my lifestyle at the moment, highlighting the things I was doing now compared to how I was before. I put all the different artistic parts of me into one song and then focused the main part on the Melodic Rap. Ultimately, I wanted to showcase the artistic part of me.”

Young King is one of those rare artists who can literally adjust to any type of beat. He’s been known to hop on Drill music, Rap, R&B, Trap, melodies … anything and everything you can think of. And of course, being originally from Nigeria, he sometimes taps into Afrobeats. More than anything, he likes to meld those genres together to try to find original sounds and styles that are different from anything else out there. And through that work, he has developed his own record label, Music Oven The Label. He’s been able to collaborate with people like Dr. Jay and Al Mojo, and he’s quickly becoming one of the most talked about artists on the East Coast.

“I just want my music to showcase success,” he said. “How do you level up? That’s the energy of ‘Off-White.’ When you listen, what are you vibing with? I want people to get the energy of being lit. You’re rocking better drips, or you’ve got a nice car, or you’ve got a bad bitch – that’s the energy I want people to get from this.”

In addition to “Off-White,” Young King has a couple of music videos about to release, and said he’s planning on releasing more music later this year.

Marcus Lane - Going on a Date

Marcus Lane redefines Hip Hop with an uncanny sound on new singles ‘Going on a Date’ and ‘Business Body’

Marcus Lane can only be described as an uncanny artist. He puts himself into a seat of professionalism and takes all of the lessons he’s learned from the legends of Hip Hop and then creates his own original sound and vibe for something that is equal parts nostalgic and fresh. His latest single, “Going on a Date” is the perfect example of how Lane offers an old-school feel with a new-school vibe. “Going on a Date” offers a transcendent, melodic sound that will intrigue the listener but is ready made for the ladies.

“It’s one of those songs that let women know how they can make themselves perfect,” Lane said. “It’s about helping them to be confident and comfortable in their own skin. I always have my way with the women. I always charm my way into their hearts, and guys want to be like me because my style and mannerisms are so hypnotic and effortless. It just comes out naturally. Every time I write music, that’s what it is, and this song is no different.

Currently available across all streaming platforms, “Going on a Date” is the perfect example of how Lane makes music that’s vibrant on different levels – whether it’s Trap or pure Hip Hop or any other genre. He said he’s going to fill that gap in music that mixes different genres and creates a style that hasn’t yet been identified. That’s why he considers himself to be an uncanny artist – he’s bringing a vibrant vibe on different levels with vocals and melodies that creep into your soul and will be memorable for years to come.

“My mentality is optimistic and my sound is Tone Rap Natural Melodic that creeps into your mind,” he said. “Sometimes, I will be in an adlib and vocal stacking adlibs that pan from one ear and out the other. It creates a mood – but my music is evolving around the street, glamour, sex and jewels. My music is an enraptured delight that will turn you on when you listen to it “make you feel me”.

In addition to “Going on a Date,” Lane also has recently released the song “Business Body” which showcases yet another facet of his talented sound and style. As with “Going on a Date,” “Business Body” is a song intended for the ladies. He said it’s a song aimed at women who understand they can use their bodies for their advantage. “It’s like a motto for women”, he said. “Women who understand that their bodies can be used as tools to get what they want.”

Lane said he’ll follow these singles up with more music and will be dropping a mixtape later this year.

Tonikk4100 - Real Factor

New artist Tonikk4100 shines a light on underbelly of Las Vegas life with new single ‘Real Factor’

LAS VEGAS, NV – A young artist out of the desert of the American West is aiming to put Las Vegas on the map. Tonikk4100 is a dedicated and extremely talented 23-year-old artist who grew up on the 4100 block of Arville Street in Las Vegas’ west side. He had deep ties to the 8 Deuce clique, and he and his friends are on a mission to show people that there’s a life beyond the glitz and glamour that most people see on TV when it comes to Las Vegas.

His latest single, “Real Factor,” puts the nitty gritty street side of Vegas on display. Showcasing his unique ability to let flow some lyrics, the song is a perfect introduction to his signature sound. Also serving as the debut single from his soon-to-be-released EP, “From the 41 to the 45,” the track is an aggressive, in-your-face take on the underbelly of Vegas life.

“People call it Sin City, and we want to show people the life behind The Strip that most people don’t know about or hear about,” he said. “It’s a city full of gangs. There’s a gang on every block. People don’t get to see that. People come here to get money in the casinos, and that’s not all there is to this city. It’s crazy. It’s turnt up. And it’s why I’m trying to put the city on the map.”

Working in conjunction with fellow Hip Hop Vegas artists Baby Flock and Actah Fully, Tonikk4100 explores a wide range of scenarios on his new EP. From hustling to witty punchlines found on the Vegas streets, to relationships and everything else in between, “From the 41 to the 45” gives listeners a very transparent and up-close-and-personal look at Tonikk’s life. Along the way, listeners will get to know his gritty and original style.

“If anyone hears my music, they’ll immediately get what I’m trying to do,” Tonikk said. “It’s too unique to explain. It’s just good music. It’s music that’s all about me trying to get this money, to be honest. I’m trying to make music people like. I feel like I’m clever when it comes to writing – I’m on flow and on point. And I’m always making something that people can relate to.”

“Real Factor” is currently available across all streaming platforms, while “From the 41 to the 45” is set to be released this June.
