In this day and age, Hip-Hop is quite possibly the most diversified genre of music on the planet. There are more sub-genres than you can count and it seems like a new lane is being opened every single day. The genre is no longer just for America’s urban youth. Everyone and their mom is listening to rap music, from Compton to Calcutta.
Baltimore born artist Shid Latta, drops his "Love + Otherx Drug$" project
which is packed with an enormous 30 tracks and covers a range from street tales to heart felt tunes.
The 30 track mixtape starts off with an intro skit which is to be expected. His job on this mixtape seems to be aggressive in getting his point across with no question. He has a diverse way of rhyming but theres some parts in the project that go stagnate. Tracks like "On Ice" , "Love Hate Love" “ Show Goes On,” & "High" showcase album like quality while the main title track "Love Otherx Drug$" turns into one of the mixtape’s most honest joints. Even though the whole tape has decent song sequence and flow, it seems to be short of hits.
In order to fully enjoy this mixtape, you have to know what you’re getting into. If you are in the mood for braggadocious lines and heavy hooks that make you want to think, then "Love Otherx Drug$" mixtape is for you.
