MIXTAPE REVIEW: Sire - Embryonic

Rating : 6/10

Usually new artists barely release projects in the 4th quarter, but who cares about rules anymore? especially in 2014. Fayetteville, North Carolina born artist SIRE  drops his solo efforts "Embryonic" to cap off the year.

The mix tape is sort of blended and diverse, using jacked instrumentals mixed with original music that contains production influenced with synths and Trap-inclined vibes, rooted in the streets the same way a down south artist would incorporate styles.

At nine songs and clocking in at roughly 30 + minutes, the mix tape is playfully curt.
Sire navigates his way through the project on songs like "Bout My Money", The laid back, melodic "About Us" & the soulful  “Gon be alright”.  His style is what makes this project interesting when you look at it from the lyrical standpoint. He flows both fast and slow, and his more notable moments on the mixtape often reflect his ability to skillfully ride the beats. His delivery and tone of voice separate themselves as his more superior attributes.

For Sire, Embryonic is more of an Indie effort, in that there are no famous guests or producers. The production also stands out for it’s indifference to the normal down south sound that general listeners would normally expect.  As for Sire, he's just getting started, and as far as his career of projects go, this is a watershed moment for the young rapper. But at nine songs, the better moments of the project are towards the end.  Stay in tune for more from Sire by following :
