MUSIC REVIEW: Junichi Arima - 23 Summit Ave / In Your Ear

Rating: 9/10

Originality & musical compositions are a thing of the past & present, and fortunately for this musician who goes by the name of Junichi Arima, he's doing just that.

Junichi Arima is a young extraordinary bassist, composer and educator who has already made a big name for himself on the East Coast and in Japan. He is a markedly versatile musician, performing electric bass and in various styles, including R&B, Pops, Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk and Gospel. As an educator and composer, he has a rich wealth of knowledge in music theory as well as the creativity to break barriers.

Junichi's talents on the electric bass have brought him much acclaim, and find him poised for continued success in his already sterling career. He has worked with Angella Christie, Dagha, James Massone (from the TV show “The Voice”), Offiong Bassey, Sheila Ray Charles (daughter of Ray Charles), Sid Sriram, Son Little (Aaron Livingston), Yuki Kanesaka, and more. As a band leader and critical member of other well known bands, he has performed famed venues, including Sculler’s Jazz Club, Regatta Bar, Hard Rock CafĂ©, Berklee Performance Center, Rockwood Music Hall among others.

"23 Summit Ave / In Your Ear" captivates a blend of soul, groove, melodic vibes
& hip hop influence. Think a "Gumbo Pot" Of: Jimmy Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Nirvana and Notorious BIG. All in all, its a Must Listen, Must Own.
